Woah, that title should be enough to make anyone lisp. =P Fun stuffs.
I've been trying to do stuff a bit differently and as always I could use some critiquing and advice.
A little encouragement couldn't hurt either.
Anyway, I haven't been drawing too much, especially with college now, but here's what I've got.

These are pretty much just random doodles I did while I was supposed to be taking calc notes, hence the f'(a) in that last girl's hair. I like the shiney bubble thing and that's about it.

And now for something completely different! ...so diffferent from my other drawings that I don't know where it came from.

I should have used a ref on this one because I know she's way off balance and her arm is especially weird.

I just started drawing a chibi version of http://superspazzystar.deviantart.com/art/The-Free-Mermaid-54074583 to keep me from falling asleep in chem and then after I added the happy sun it just popped into my head how she'd fry in no time. ^__^' Happy fun stuff.
Hey star! Nice to see you start a sketchbook.
I think the main area you should focus on atm is doing life studies, that will really help you with drawing people and anatomy. Especially at lectures, you are in a room with heaps of people so there is a really good chance to draw people around you haha, I've done that heaps of time and not only is it very rewarding but it is also really fun! (Besides they can't comment on your drawing as they are meant to be paying attention to the lecturer
)
Other wise I'd recommend getting Bridgman/Loomis/Hogarth book and studiying the way they go about drawing anatomy, that will help with getting better structure in your drawings.
Hope I didn't come of too harsh, keep posting, keep working, and most definitely you will see your art get better
!
EDIT: Moved to study from finished section, make sure when you hit start new discussion you select which category to start one in. I know it's a little confusing, but on the plus side you can start a discussion without viewing the actually category.
Thanks. Haha, I like what you've said about drawing during lectures. I've gotta pay close attention during my lecture classes plus I mostly just get a nice view of the back of peoples' heads. XD My regular classes would be much better for drawing in.
Focus on life studies and structure I shall!
And that didn't come off too harsh at all.
Everything you've said is quite helpful. I know my structure and proportions can be rather buggy, but it's good to be reminded that I can improve.
Eep! I'm sorry for messing up the section. ^__^' I guess I just got confused with how this new board works because this is obviously where I meant to put it in the first place.
Actually Rayk, I think you came off sounding surprisingly unharsh.
Star: The hand in the first image, did you use reference? =D
I love the logic with the mermaid. XD
And it looks like the sketch with just the face is showing through the first sketch of the mermaid. XD
Yeah, I used my own hand as a refernce. I think it would have turned out better if I wasn't trying to fit the entire thing in the margins though. X_X Even though I resized it, the lines should give you an idea of how small it is.
Hehe, I'm glad you like my mermaid logic. The redhead had it coming to her.
Yeah, the face did show through quite a bit. XD It's watching you!
I drew someone from class yesterday, so I'll have to post them when I can this weekend. I think it helped me, but once more I drew way too small. Why? I have no clue, but I need to stop doing that!
Hallo again. It's been quite a while! I've got break next week (don't know why that week) so I'll finally have some time for art stuffs!
I was going to ink this up and color it, but there's a couple things that just don't look quite right to me that I want to fix first. Any suggestions on how to make it look better (without completely redrawing it XD)?

OH! I was also thinking of inking & coloring this one up, but other than Belle's eyebrow having gotten all deformed, I like how it turned out.

Come on, you know you were thinking that when you watched Beauty and the Beast.
The feathers in the second frame should show up much more nicely once they're colored.
Well, for the first one... I don't know. Until a certain point, to me, it looks kind of perspectivy, then goes to a straight on view. Am I making any sense? Anyone else see something like that? >_o Like, if I use my browser to cut off from about the top of her shirt down, it looks alright, but go lower and it starts looking a bit wonky. And I think her left foot should be showing up a bit somewhere. But the head and shoulders look pretty cool. =3
I saw the B&TB one on DA (haven't commented yet... D=), and just got it now. XD Didn't notice the feathers before. Maybe you could exaggerate Belle's eyebrows a bit to make her look a bit more angry/stern, or cross her arms in a huff. Unless you're going for a confused look, that is.
Nice to see more from ya. I should comment on DA more @_@.
Yeah, I get what you mean. ^__^' Hehe, wonky is a good word and I must agree. Thank you very much.
lol I'm glad you got it now. The feathers are kinda hard to see right now, but I should be able to fix that up. I definitely agree about the eyebrow (fixed it right after scanning XD) and the arm crossing is a good idea... at least until I butcher it up and revert to wonky angles and oddly shaped hands again.
Thanks again!
Hopefully there should be a lot of stuff on DA from me in this coming week since I finally have a break and actually have a bunch of stuff on my art to do list.
Ah, and I realized shortly after I posted that the Beauty and the Beast one isn't on DA. Where did I see it?! LJ perhaps?
I linked to it from my DA journal. I didn't post it yet since I intend on finishing it. Grawr, there is so much stuff that I want to finish and post that I don't think I'm going to get to it all any time soon. *hasn't even finished the first thing on her list*
