Eep! @__@ The wings and the eyes are really pretty.
I can't say much else because I'm kinda creeped out by the blood and the skull is making me think of Hamlet.

I agree with Star: wings and eyes are pretty.

May I make a suggestion? Some of the blood spatters on her are spilling over the lines and into negative space. Right now it looks to me like you just used a brush over top of the image for the blood. Maybe if you got rid of the bits in the negative space, it'll blend in more. Just a thought! :)

Oh, and I rather like the background colour scheme.

And if you're the same Kizanko I think you are, nice to see you finally making your way over here!

I see what you mean i will erase the blood on the negative space i didn't notice that it would look kinda weird. Good thing you corrected me :)

Hi kizanko. I wanted to say that I really like your concept here. A bloody angel with a skull is kinda freaky. I especially love how u did her expression.:D:D

Just a few things tho. I noticed that her breasts aren't even. Her right breast is bigger than her left. There's also a problem with her left arm. You have to remember that the length from the shoulder to the elbow and from the elbow to the wrist are even no matter what kind of style you use. Basic anatomy stays the same. I think that the length of the shoulder to the elbow of your left arm is kinda short.

You should get some references of birds on how they fold their wings. Its really helpful. Same goes for backgrounds. Don't be afraid of using reference. I suck at backgrounds too. Thats why I'm practicing with ref before proceeding to imagination. Maybe we can ask Rayk to post a tutorial on how he does backgrounds. His BG are really cool.:wink:

And lastly COMPOSITION. Its really important. Look at different artworks. I suggest going to deviantart and study the composition of the artworks there. Also study on how they do the colors, the lighting, expressions, proportions etc.

Anyway I hope this helps you improve. Really looking forward to ur next piece.:D:D

Bil_E_Z pretty sums it up, but I have to disagree with going to deviant art in terms of studying composition, simply because a large majority of work there is very lacklustre to be studied from.

Better to go to http://www.artrenewal.org/ and study one of the old master works. Not just for composition, but colour, technique, everything. Download a hi-res image and do a study copy, focusing to de construct those things. :ninja:

Good to see you update, but again your anatomy is wonky. Mainly I see your problem being in that you are tending to draw in symbols rather then the actual human form (even if you are styling it).

Personally I think you should give drawing animu a break (for at least a few months, if not half a year or more, this goes to other members who are struggling with fundamentals of art) and focus on studying figure and drapery (how cloth folds around objects and etc). This will also help you with drawing environments - because that will training your artistic perception of the world around you.

I would grab every Loomis book (many places to dl, 5/6 books in all) and also Bridgman'S Complete Guide To Drawing From Life (art stores/book stores usually carry it, if not hit the internet), these books are awesome, and should help you immensely.

 And don't worry about not drawing animu, all the things that influence you in life will show through in your style, which can only develop with time - and some day people will recognise you in your art, no matter what you draw.

I hope that helps, not trying to ruffle any feathers - just sharing what has helped me develop as an artist. Because as artist, we are students for life time :D

No problems kizanko, it's not so much about drawing realism as about studying life. It would be good if you did show your anatomy/study stuff, so if you have a camera use that to take photos of drawings. That way you can get feedback on them :)

Nice to see some one post!

Kizanko, watch that anatomy! I really think you should do some studies, bridgman/loomis/vilppu doesn't matter (all of them a good and beneficial), and post on here for us to see (and also on CA). Of course life drawing is even better if there is a local group you can attend.

I would be nice to see some non animu work.

    Cheers
