    RULES (a work in progress):

Dream Gauge is a small online "atelier" that is run by it's own members to help each other improve and grow. Therefore keep ass patting to an absolute minimum. Everyone here has room to improve, so please give honest feedback and critique. Use common sense when posting and keep it civil - so nothing offensive or derogatory. Otherwise anything goes :).

Try not to post links to dream gauge on other forums, I want to keep this place relatively small and quite. However, inviting friends over is fine.

    Critique others

Everyone absolutely must give other people critique and feedback, for every critique you receive you should try and give some one else one in return. Yes we all have busy life's here, with most people having a full time job, so if those people take the time to post and give you feedback please have the courtesy and respect to do the same back.

No one is above critique, everyone has room to improve and get better. If you feel someone's level is beyond you giving them technical critique you can ALWAYS give feedback on how their work reads, if you feel some thing doesn't flow or doesn't make sense, or what works and should be kept etc. It's a very valuable skill learning to critique others, practice it and you will get better!

******* People who aren't giving critique to others will be warned and then removed ********** If you don't want to give critique back to others should go and join another place.

    Sketchbook Rules

Sketchbooks need to be updated regularly, failure to update your sketchbook for longer than a few weeks will result in it being deleted (unless it was quality, which case it will be put in the freezer for later consumption). The reason for this rule is we want to keep the sketchbook section clutter free and relevant. If you aren't keen on improving and putting in the effort to do so please don't waste other members time - there are plenty of other forums/sites which don't require such a commitment.

Read THIS if you want to go on HIATUS!!!

If by some chance you go on hiatus (from busy life, work overload, what ever). Please post that you are going on hiatus in your thread - you absolutely MUST POST A HIATUS PICTURE (don't care how crude or sketchy it is, but it must drawn/painted by you >D). This not only shows courtesy and respect, but will also save you from the horrible fate of being forgotten and removed from inactivity.

:orange: - oranges are good for you!

Our forum uses html for text formatting, so all tags need to be opened and closed to work properly.
Below is a list of common tags and how to use them.

Inserting images anywhere in the post:

First attach and upload images per usual, hit post. Once the post has posted hit edit and look at the attachments field.
Each image will have a number in square brackets before it, simply write [Image_number] where you want the image to appear it the post and his save.

    <strong>Bold</strong>

    Youtube and image embeding:

Both youtube and images can be embedded simply pasting the url!

    like so:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28XXAjHSu2o

    will get you this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28XXAjHSu2o

alternatively if you DON'T want to embed you can stick a "!" in front of the url to just link to it:
